1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Page Quarry (the “Extension”) handles information when you use it. Page Quarry is a Chrome browser extension developed by Hussein Akl for discovering and downloading visual assets from the webpage you are currently viewing.
The Extension is designed as a local utility. It does not require you to create an account, and its core asset-scanning workflow does not require a Page Quarry backend service.
2. Information Page Quarry accesses
When you explicitly open or use Page Quarry on a webpage, the Extension may access information present on that active page as needed to identify supported assets. This can include:
- Image source URLs and responsive image sources.
- SVG elements and SVG source URLs.
- CSS background-image URLs exposed by the rendered page.
- Favicon, Apple Touch icon, mask icon and web app manifest references.
- PWA icon information exposed through a website manifest.
- Video poster or thumbnail URLs exposed by the page.
- Basic asset metadata such as dimensions, format, filename and source type when available.
This information is used to populate the Page Quarry interface for the page you chose to inspect.
3. Personal information
Page Quarry does not require your name, account, postal address, phone number or other profile information to use the Extension. The Extension is not designed to create a profile about you or your browsing activity.
4. Data collection and transmission
Page Quarry is designed so that its core page scanning and gallery generation occur locally within your browser. Page Quarry does not operate a cloud service that receives a copy of the assets discovered on the page for the purpose of creating your gallery.
When you choose to open or download an asset, your browser may communicate directly with the third-party website or content host where that asset is located. Those requests are subject to the privacy practices of the relevant third party, not this Privacy Policy.
5. Browser permissions
activeTab
This permission allows Page Quarry to work with the webpage you are actively viewing after you invoke the Extension. It is used to inspect the current page for supported assets.
scripting
This permission allows Page Quarry to run the page-scanning logic required to identify supported visual assets on the active webpage.
downloads
This permission allows Page Quarry to start an individual browser download when you explicitly select the Download action for an asset.
Page Quarry is designed to avoid requesting broad host access when the narrower active-page workflow is sufficient.
6. Local preferences
The Extension may store lightweight interface preferences locally in your browser, such as a preferred gallery view or sorting option. These preferences are used only to improve your experience and are not intended to identify you.
7. Analytics, advertising and tracking
The current Page Quarry extension is not designed to include behavioral advertising, cross-site tracking, or a user analytics profile. Page Quarry does not sell personal information.
8. Third-party websites and assets
Page Quarry helps you discover URLs and assets that belong to third-party websites. It does not control those websites, their servers, or their privacy practices. A website may also prevent certain assets from being fetched, previewed, or downloaded because of its security configuration, authentication requirements, access controls, or browser policies.
9. Copyright and responsible use
Page Quarry is a utility for locating assets exposed by webpages. Access to an asset does not grant ownership, a license, or permission to reuse it. You are responsible for ensuring that your downloading and use of third-party assets complies with applicable copyright, licensing, contractual, and website terms.
10. Children's privacy
Page Quarry is a general-purpose browser utility and is not specifically directed to children. The Extension is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Security
Reasonable care is taken to keep the Extension's functionality limited to what is required for its stated purpose. However, no software or internet-connected environment can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
12. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Page Quarry's functionality, permissions, data practices, or legal requirements change. When material changes are made, the updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
13. Contact
If you have a privacy question about Page Quarry, contact messageme@husseinakl.com.
14. Responsible-use safeguards
Page Quarry includes product safeguards intended to reduce misuse. It restricts scanning on selected social-media, portfolio-gallery, stock-image and streaming platforms and may require an explicit permission confirmation before downloading photographic, artistic or otherwise ambiguous raster assets. These safeguards do not determine ownership or legal rights and do not grant a license to reuse third-party content.
Page Quarry is not designed to bypass authentication, paywalls, DRM, access controls, or technical download protections.
