Frequently asked questions

Common questions

What does Page Quarry extract?

Page Quarry is focused on visual website assets. It can discover regular images, responsive image sources, SVGs, CSS background images, favicons, Apple Touch icons, PWA/manifest icons, and supported video poster or thumbnail assets exposed by the current page.

Why does an asset appear in the page but not in Page Quarry?

Some websites load visuals dynamically, render them inside restricted frames, require authentication, use protected media delivery, or hide source information behind browser/security policies. Page Quarry can only work with asset information that the browser makes available to the extension on the active page.

Why can I preview an asset but not download it?

The server hosting an asset may apply authentication, hotlink protection, access-control rules or other restrictions. Page Quarry initiates the download, but the source website ultimately controls whether the file can be served.

Does Page Quarry download every asset automatically?

No. Page Quarry presents discovered assets in a gallery. Downloads happen only when you choose the Download action for an individual asset.

Can Page Quarry extract inline SVGs?

Yes. When an SVG exists directly in the page markup rather than as a standalone URL, Page Quarry can serialize the SVG markup so you can copy or download it as an SVG file.

Does Page Quarry upload the assets I scan?

The core scanning workflow is designed to happen locally in your browser. Page Quarry does not require a cloud asset library or account to build the gallery. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.

Can I use assets I find commercially?

Page Quarry helps you locate and download assets; it does not grant usage rights. Copyright, trademarks, licenses and website terms still apply. Confirm that you have the right to reuse an asset before publishing or redistributing it.

Does Page Quarry work on Chrome internal pages?

No. Chrome restricts extensions from accessing certain protected pages such as chrome:// URLs and parts of the Chrome Web Store. This is a browser security limitation.

Do I need an account?

No account is required for Page Quarry's core extension workflow.

How do I report a bug?

Email messageme@husseinakl.com. If possible, include the affected page URL, Chrome version, steps to reproduce the issue and a screenshot.
